W. Carl Jackson papers, 1952-1981

W. Carl Jackson served as Dean of Libraries, Indiana University, Bloomington from 1973-80. The W. Carl Jackson papers comprise 4.8 cubic feet and span 1952-1981. Organized in five series. The Correspondence series contains the general correspondence of Jackson arranged alphabetically. The Talks and lectures series includes notes, rough drafts, and talks presented by Jackson. The subjects deal mainly with the current trends in the field of library science. In the Committees series researchers can find correspondence, meeting minutes, and information pertaining to committees in which Jackson was involved. A considerable quantity of the series documents Jackson's involvement with the American Library Association and EDUCOM. The Consultant work series contains correspondence, plans, and papers relating to Jackson's work as a consultant for several university libraries. The final series in the Jackson papers are Personal Subject files. They cover a vast array of topics both of professional and leisure interests, including sailing.
